When is the best time for a sitting up session?
The perfect time for a sitting up session is usually when your baby can sit independently but is not yet crawling too quickly — most often between 6 and 10 months.
This stage is ideal because babies are usually very expressive, curious and full of personality, while still happy to stay safely within a styled setup.
If your baby is not sitting yet, or is already crawling, please do not worry. Every baby develops at their own pace, and the session can be gently adapted to your little one’s age, confidence and personality.

Your baby is no longer a tiny newborn, but not yet a toddler. They are changing every week, discovering the world, responding to your voice, playing with their toes, clapping, laughing, reaching for toys and showing more of who they are becoming.

Baby only session
Sitting up sessions are designed as baby-only portrait sessions.
This allows the full focus to remain on your little one and their milestone stage. If you would like to include parents or siblings, please enquire about a family photography session instead, as this requires a different session structure, styling and time allowance.
What to expect during your session
Your session will be relaxed, baby-led and never rushed. Some babies smile instantly, while others need a little time to settle — both are completely normal.
I will gently guide the session using soft interaction, simple posing, toys, textures and natural expressions. The aim is to capture your baby beautifully while keeping them comfortable and safe throughout.
Please bring anything your baby may need, including milk, snacks, nappies, wipes and a favourite comfort item if required.
